Beginners to Some experience
This class offers you the basics. It will introduce you to technique training for a variety of drum styles (e.g djembes, conga’s, snares, toms, and bass drums). Technique practice and playing musical pieces are used to teach you about the art of drumming. African, Brazilian, Caribbean and American rhythms will be included. In each class you will have a chance to lose yourself in the beautiful rhythms and music while you play.

This class offers technique training for a variety of drum styles that use both hands and sticks (e.g djembes, conga’s, snares, toms, and bass drums). Technique practice and playing musical pieces are used to teach you about the art of drumming. African, Brazilian, Caribbean and American rhythms will be included. In addition, the art of performing will be emphasized.

Drumming is accessible and fun! Learn technique for drums from around the world (e.g djembes, conga’s, snares, toms, and bass drums) and feel the JOY of being in a drum ensemble. African, Brazilian, Caribbean and American Rhythms will be taught and used within musical drum pieces!

Djoyful Djuns - Some experience to Moderate experience
Explore playing the duns and the djembes. Women in Africa have had a history of playing the Dun Duns. The energy and spirit of the duns as they blend with the djembes make a beautiful combination of sounds and rhythms. Many variations of how the duns are played will be taught. African influenced rhythms and songs, along with contemporary pieces will be included.
Saturday November, 21- 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

What a One-on-One (private ) Lesson will include!
Before the meeting (by email or phone):
1) We will determine the goal of the lesson. This ensures that we have the music and instruments that we need ready on lesson day.
Samples of Goals:
-Work on a skill/technique - stick and hand drum sounds, counting out parts
-Work on a drum part (of a piece)
-Work on understanding the arrangement of a piece
-Work on transitions in a piece (moving in and out of breaks within a piece)
2) I will send a video link with information that relates to the upcoming lesson to enable you to practice and prepare for the lesson.
Samples of video link content:
- Proper Technique to practice
-The “part” being played on the drum
-A “play along” of a part
At the Lesson: (done in person or on Zoom/FaceTime)
We will work together to accomplish the goals we had set.
Fee:
-One-on-One lesson 60-90 min. - $40
NOTE: If you are not able to pay, due to this current situation, don't let that stop you. Please let me know and we will discuss other arrangements.

At the class: (done on Zoom)
I will demonstrate or review a technique or part and then you practice (while on mute). Then, I will have a person unmute and I will listen to how the technique or part sounds and offer suggestions to improve if needed.
Fee:
Group lesson 60-90 min. $20 per person
NOTE: If you are not able to pay, due to this current situation, don't let that stop you. Please let me know and we will discuss other arrangements.
